Antique Marrow Scoop.
A Georgian Marrow scoop or marrow spoon dating from 1791. The decoration is relatively simple with a regency style reeded edge.
The scoop measures approximately 8 1/2" (21.5cm) long and the widest bowl is approximately 3/4" (22mm) wide. The scoop is solidly made and weighs approximately 53.5 grams.
Hallmarks for George Smith II, London, 1791.
There is only minimal wear to the bowls. The back of the larger bowl is nicely engraved with a coat of arms that I have not yet identified.
A difficult to find item.
