Acrylic Coin slabs with an, inert white, flexible interior.
I have been looking for suitable hard cases for my coin collection for years and have finally found these. They are of a similar type used by the major coin certification companies. I have tested many types for suitability over the years and these are the best I have found.
They measure approximately 85mm x 60mm x 10mm and have a shallow depression for adding a catalogue card on the inside of approximately 42mm x 20mm.
There will be a future blog post on coin sizes/suitability, but for now here is a quick reference for UK coins;
Farthing 1806-1807, 21mm.
Farthing 1821-1860, 22mm.
Farthing 1861-1956, 20mm.
Half Penny 1860-1967, 26mm.
Half Penny 1806-1807, 29mm.
Penny 1860-1967, 31mm.
Silver Threepence 1822-Date, 16mm.
Brass 3 pence 1937-1967, 21mm.
Silver Fourpence 1822-Date, 18mm.
Sixpence 1816-1967, 19mm.
Shilling 1816-1967, Shilling 1763-1778, 23mm.
Florin 1822-, 28mm.
Half Guinea 1762-1813, 20mm
Half Sovereign 1817-Date, 19mm.
Full sovereign 1817-Date, 21mm*.
*Technically the Full Sovereign should go in a 22mm slab, but I find the fit a little loose for my liking.
These should come up as free UK postage, but occasionally the system misses this. If it does, don't worry, the postage will be refunded.
Please note: Coins not included, they are just for the pictures.
Thank you for looking.
P.S. These are the sizes I am keeping in stock, but if there are other coins sizes you are looking for, please let me know and I will see what I can do.
