Ruby and Diamond Cluster ring in 18ct gold.
Important Note: This ring is offered in an "as found" condition as it's awaiting preparation and the price reflects this. Ideally I would like to replace two Diamonds. One Diamond is due to an inclusion reaching the surface (knot), the other is a replacement of a slightly different cut. I would also like to replace the Ruby as it has a few open inclusions reaching the top of the stone which I don't like, but it's still a very good colour. Realistically it will be some time before I find the right stones for this, so I've decided to offer it in a "raw" way with no repairs.
The ring is a handmade ring, not casting, and has been nicely put together. The is no hallmark, but an 18ct stamp is present and I have tested the metal to confirm it's 18ct gold. It comprises of a single, central Ruby of good colour approximately 4mm in diameter surrounded by 8 diamonds totally approximately 0.40cts (estimated). The Diamond colours are approximately H-J and SI2 to I2 in clarity with the Diamonds I want to replace being responsible for the lower end.
The Ruby is of a good colour and I believe from a marble hosted deposit as Burmese tend to be, but I cannot declare this as Burmese as more research is needed.
Finger size K.
Weight: Approximately 3.06 grams.
Condition: The settings are in good condition with only minor repairs needed to bring it back to very good. The shank is still nice and thick showing a little wear.
It is possible to size this, but please ask first, so we can make sure it's possible and what cost/timescale may be involved.
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
The Diamond gradings in this listing are my own opinion and not backed up by a Diamond Grading report. These gradings are based on many years’ experience dealing in Diamonds and Gemstones along side the training I have received and qualifications I hold (such as GIA’s Diamond Diploma). These opinions are offered as honestly as possible. Unless otherwise stated, the gradings are assessed whilst the stones are mounted. This can cause restrictions in what is possible to see.
