Dressing table box in cut glass with a Sterling Silver lid.
A sterling silver lid sits on the top of a plain sided glass box with starburst cutting on the base. The lid is of a heavy gauge weighing approximately 67.25 grams on its own and engine turned. The central circle is blank, but judging by the ripples to the surface I suspect engraving has been removed, but there is still plenty of thickness for engraving.
Although this was intended as a dressing table box, it would be quite at home on a desk and is long enough to house pens and pencils. There are a few very minor chips to the edge of the glass and normal scuffing to the base.
The box measures approximately 190 mm long, 30 mm wide and 40 mm deep and has a gross weight of approximately 270 grams.
