Victorian, Sterling Silver, Collar necklet. This is quite an impressive necklet which has been worn and enjoyed. Genuine Silver collars from the Victorian period are pretty hard to find and those that you do are usually damaged beyond repair. This one isn't perfect, there is some damage and a few repairs ( I can count 12), but it's still pretty presentable. Really selling it here I know, but it's how I work. I'm offering this in its pre-restored state now, but the plan is to restore it during a quieter time of year, so it's time to grab a bargain. The piece itself doesn't have a hallmark, but this wasn't a legal requirement at that time (that didn't come in until 1975). It measures approximately 16" long and just over 3/4" wide at the widest point. Each tab is hand engraved with a leaf design. The clasp is a later replacement large spring ring. All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal.
All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically. Thank you for looking and please have a look around the other items in my shop.
