Single stone Diamond ring in 18ct gold.
General Description: 6 claw setting in 18ct white gold with an 18ct yellow gold shank.
Ring Size: UK size O 1/2 (US 7.5)
Measurements: The head of the ring measures approximately 5mm in diameter and the widest point. The shank measures approximately 2.1mm wide, tapering to the shoulder.
Stone details: 1x Round brilliant cut diamond calculated as 0.19cts. The Diamond is A good, high SI clarity. The Diamond is resting on the underneath of the setting giving the appearance of another inclusion, but it is simply where it's making contact and nothing to do with clarity. The colour looks to be in the region of H/I. The stone returns light nicely with no obvious issues with the cut. Now for the geeky bit, just under the girdle (widest point) there is a small trigon (natural diamond crystal face). It's the type of thing I still smile about when I see them.
Metal and Marks: Makers mark SMJ, Sheffield, 18ct gold, 1989.
Weight: Approximately 2.47 grams.
Condition: The Settings and Diamonds are in very good condition. There is very little evidence of wear other than the very tips of the claws, which are still in excellent condition. There is evidence of a re-sizing join, but it all seems sound.
This is an excellent condition ring.
It is possible to size this, but please ask first, so we can make sure it's possible and what cost/timescale may be involved.
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
The Diamond gradings in this listing are my own opinion and not backed up by a Diamond Grading report. These gradings are based on many years’ experience dealing in Diamonds and Gemstones along side the training I have received and qualifications I hold (such as GIA’s Diamond Diploma). These opinions are offered as honestly as possible. Unless otherwise stated, the gradings are assessed whilst the stones are mounted. This can cause restrictions in what is possible to see.
Thank you for looking and please have a look around my shop.
