A nice vintage, so to be antique, thimble in Sterling Silver. Size 18.
Very clear hallmark: Chester, 1924, James Walker.
It measures approximately 22 mm high and 18mm diameter at the opening. It is marked JAMES WALKER THE LONDON JEWELLER just up from the rim. Jeweller It is a little off round as you can see in the pictures, but I have learnt there is not much point in re-shaping them as they are usually tweaked for the next user. The decoration is fairly utilitarian and there are no holes in the top, which is great for a thimble of this age.
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
Thank you for looking and please have a look around the other items in my shop.
