Victorian Sapphire and Diamond 5 stone ring.
 
If you're looking for an eye catching, Antique, Sapphire and Diamond ring, this one fits the bill. The Diamonds are nice and bright and the Sapphires are of a nice, sleepy Royal Blue. These Sapphires remind me of the Old Mine Kashmir colour with their slightly velvety look. This is a nice quality ring that's in very good condition and it even has a little hand engraved detail on the shoulders.
 
Ring Size: UK Size P, US Size 7.75 (almost 8).
 
Diamond Weight and Cut: Approximately 0.60 cts total  (estimated). Old Cut.

Sapphire Weight and Cut: Approximately 0.50 cts for the centre (calculated) and approximately 0.17 cts each for the outer (calculated)  giving a total  0.84 cts. Antique Cushion and Round cut.
 
The Sapphires have a few abrasions to the facet edges (see pictures) but are otherwise OK. The Diamonds are typical Old Cuts following a few rules of cutting, but with plenty of improvisation. They are of Approximately G-H colour and in the SI clarity range. There are a few natural Diamond crystal faces on the girdle and underneath the stones. I found these quite fascinating under the microscope.
The setting measures approximately 19 mm x 6.5 mm at the widest points. The setting stands approximately 4 mm high off the finger. The shank/band is approximately 4 mm wide at the shoulders tapering to 2 mm at the back. 
 
Gross Weight: 4.40 g
 
Marks/Metal: There is no hallmark present only a very faint stamped 18ct mark, but the metal has been tested to confirm this. 
 
Condition: Other than the wear to the Sapphires and a little wear to the rest of the ring, it's in excellent condition for its age.
 
Sizing: It is possible to size this, but please ask first, so we can make sure it's possible and what cost/timescale may be involved.
 
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
