A gents, Shield shape, signet ring in 9ct gold.
 
This ring has been worn and loved with the sharp edges of the shield shape beautifully softened. It still has plenty of meal left in it and  I often get thinner, new rings to size on the repairs side of my business.
 
Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1958. The weighs approximately 4.88 grams and is a finger size T (UK/AU) or size 9 3/4 US. The head of the ring measures approximately 12 mm x 12 mm and the shank tapers to approximately 3 mm wide at the back. The solder join on this is not the best join and looks a little scruffy, but for the moment I have left it as it is most likely that I will end up sizing it and if not, I will sort it out before sending.
 
All in all this is a nicely made, good looking ring.
 
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand-new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
