Antique, Sterling Silver, Watch Albert/Watch Chain.

These are getting much harder to find in good condition and the correct length. This is mainly due to the fashion of converting them to bracelets or necklets. Even when someone kept the spares to put it back together, the wear is often very uneven. This is a single Albert, that would go from the pocket watch, in a waistcoat pocket, to the waistcoats buttonhole. The small piece of chain by the T- Bar was often used to display a key, fob or other attachment.

Measurements: It measures approximately 33cm (13")mm from swivel to T-bar, not including the small tail of chain. The T-Bar is approximately 40mm (1 1/2") long. The chain graduates in width from approximately 5mm wide at the ends to just over 8mm in the middle.

Metal and Marks: Makers mark for Henry Allday and Son (H.A&S), Birmingham (no assay office mark, but the others match), Sterling Silver (also stamped on each link), 1913 (1938 is similar, but this is certainly 1913).

Weight: Approximately 32.91 grams.

Condition: Excellent condition for an antique. The T-Bar is straight, the clip is the original and still working. There is some wear to the chain, which is even and far less than I would expect.

All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.

Thank you for looking and please have a look around the other items in my shop.
