A nice, vintage, soon to be Antique, thimble in Sterling Silver. Size 4.

Very clear hallmark: Chester, 1929, Charles Horner (James Dobson Horner and Charles Henry Horner as it was after Charles Horner's death in 1896).

It measures approximately 25 mm high and 19mm diameter at the opening. It is a little off round as you can see in the pictures, but I have learnt there is not much point in re-shaping them as they are usually tweaked for the next user. The decoration is fairly utilitarian and there are no holes in the top, which is great for a thimble of this age. The top has worn fairly smooth.

All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.

Thank you for looking and please have a look around the other items in my shop.
