Victorian style, Sterling Silver, Shield shape signet ring.
Traditional stamped signet ring with a Shield Shape head measuring approximately 14mm x 12mm. This ring is available in finger sizes from O to Z UK size (7 to 13 US). Why stamped? Stamping is the precious metal version of drop forging. This forces the grain of the metal to follow the shape of the ring and produces a much denser and tougher metal than casting. This means they are harder wearing and engrave very well. The head is approximately 2mm thick which is suitable for most types of engraving including seal engraving as shown in the last picture, but please supply an example of any crest you may want engraved before purchasing. I think this is my favourite style. It is a typical style of the Victorian era.
IMPORTANT NOTE. If you want this engraved, please enquire. I have access to an award winning hand engraver who is able to engrave everything from simple initials to a seal engraved crest or coat of arms. I am happy to give you an estimate if you are able to supply me with some details. Image 4 shows the standard styles of engraving available. The best styles for initials are shown as initials. For more information, please visit my blog here.
Did you want this in a different size or metal? Feel free to ask. New rings can often be made in the right size (please let me know which sizing system you are using) and antique and vintage pieces can often be sized a little, just ask. I can make up custom orders in most precious metals from silver to 9ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct gold, as well as Platinum and Palladium. Stones can be changed or added to designs. Most things are possible, it’s just a case of cost and time. GSShield
