A Vintage, 9ct gold, Cushion/Octagonal Shape, signet ring with a rounded shape to the shoulders and engraved initials (FJCC) on the table. 
 
Dimensions: Head (cushion) approximately 12 mm square x 11 mm. The shank (back bit) tapers to approximately 3 mm wide.
Thickness: Centre of the head approximately 1mm.
Finger size: Approximately  R (UK/AU), 8 5/8 (US).
Marks/Hallmarks: BS (B. Stych & Co Ltd) Birmingham, 9ct gold, 1946.
Weight: Approximately 3.89 grams
 
All in all this is a nicely made, good looking ring with plenty of wear left in it (it's thicker than many new rings I get for sizing). The engraving has worn so it looks more like a pattern now. In time I may look at removing the engraving and I will update the listing.
 
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand-new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
