Opal and Diamond 3 stone ring mounted in 18ct gold.
A classic 3 stone ring in a rub over or bezel setting. A single Oval Opal is in the centre with a round diamond either side.
Ring Size: UK Size R.
Opal: Approximately 7.5mm x 5.5mm oval. It's of a White to Crystal body colour with Mostly Blue/Green play of colour with yellow orange and the slightest bit of red from some directions. It shows colour in every face up direction. The look and feel of this Opal reminds me of Mintabie material, but I can't confirm it is.
Diamond: 2x 0.05ct Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds. They appear to be H+ in colour and VS, but it's difficult to be certain in this type and colour of setting.
The setting measures approximately 13.3 mm across the finger and x 8.4 mm at the widest point. The setting stands approximately 4.5mm high off the finger in centre. The shank/band is a relatively uniform 1.8 mm thick tapering towards the setting.
Marks/Metal: The ring has a full UK hallmark of SL, London, 18ct gold, 1997.
Condition: Very Good. There are some marks to the metal and evidence of re-sizing up at the back. The Opal is pretty much un-marked.A really nice ring.
Sizing: It is possible to size this, but please ask first, so we can make sure it's possible and what cost/timescale may be involved.
A quick note if you're thinking of this as an engagement ring. Please don't buy it. I'm an "Old School" jeweller who cares about pieces once they've found a new home. Opals are a little softer and more brittle than the traditional engagement stones such as Diamonds, Sapphire and Rubies. If worn everyday, as engagement rings tend to be, it will suffer over time. I want you to look after this and enjoy it for many years to come.
