A gents, Vintage, Rectangular, signet ring with ribbed shoulders in 9ct gold.
 
Dimensions: Head (rectangle) approximately 14 mm x 12 mm. The shank (back bit) tapers to approximately 3.3mm wide.
Thickness: Centre of the head approximately 1mm.
Finger size: Approximately  Q (UK/AU), 8 1/4 (US), 57 1/8 (EU).
Marks/Hallmarks: PPL (Payton Pepper ltd.) Birmingham, 9ct gold, 1973.
Weight: Approximately 6.4 grams
 
All in all this is a nicely made, good looking ring with plenty of wear in it. Many of the modern rings I make have a thinner head.
 
All vintage items have been worn and loved before they find their next owner, so they should always be worn or used with a little more care than a brand-new piece. Some minor scratches are normal. All vintage pieces I sell have been thoroughly cleaned and lightly polished when required. If repairs are needed before it's offered for sale, they are completed sympathetically.
